There are a lot of things that wrestlers can do on the independent wrestling scene that they can’t do in the WWE, and the freedom has allowed many wrestlers to get creative. However, some people feel the action that takes place inside the ring on the independent wrestling scene is a little over the top, and Rip Rogers recently took to Twitter to criticize independent matches.

Randy Orton seemed to agree as he responded to the message by simply saying “…..dive.”

It didn’t take long for fans and other wrestlers to join the conversation, and Randy Orton found himself on the receiving end of some backlash.

Randy Orton is never one to shy away from controversy, so instead of trying to smooth things over with the independent wrestling crowd, he’s doubling down on the controversy with an interesting apology which can be read below.

“Sorry to the Indy marks, Indy guys and old timers who do DIVES took offense….. just having a good time over a few drinks in Denmark closing the Smackdown Live tour….while beating Raw in making over 5 million dollars in the last 11 shows. Now I know to some that doesn’t equate to a standing room only crowd of 150 people paying $8 at an armory somewhere…. but in the big boy world that’s called putting asses in seats. So enjoy your flips, dives, and 20 superkicks per match. To each their own. I will go “dive” back into my 13th title run and get ready to “flip” when my bank statement comes this month. …………….headlock.”

  1. Funny coming from a guy who had one of the worst WWE title matches in Wrestlemania history, and don’t even get me started on the House of Horrors. Randy Orton is a talented wrestler I will give him that, but even with all his accomplishments and credentials that he claims to have, he isn’t WWE’s biggest draw. He isn’t no John Cena, he certainly isn’t the Rock, and he sure as hell isn’t Brock Lesnar. With that being said commercial success and multiple title reigns doesn’t equate to a talents overall worth and contribution to the business.

  2. He is right Indy guys no sell everything dive super kick dive and commercial success is exactly what determines a talents worth the key to the game is put asses in seats and nobody in the Indy scene does that better than anyone in the big leagues that’s exactly why they’re called the big leagues
