John Cena is one of the most polarizing figures in the history of WWE and he got a lot of people talking, for better or worse, when he won his 16th WWE World Title at the Royal Rumble.

Cena has been busy over the past few years working on projects outside of the WWE and he’s been criticized by some people who seem to believe his career inside the ring is winding down. It seems that the criticism has simply fueled the fire that burns inside John Cena, because he recently spoke to Sky Sports and he made it clear that he has no plans to hang up his sneakers anytime soon.

“I am far from retiring, I feel like I am at my physical best. I don’t think it’s any secret to anybody that this is what I love to do the most and I am far from over. [I am so proud that] I am still able to do this after 16 championships and I always say that my greatest match is my next one. A lot of folks in the WWE say that maybe I am past my prime and have lost a step and that creates a giant chip on [my] shoulder. I want to showcase to everyone watching that I am still at my best.”

Fans either seem to love or hate John Cena, but over the years he’s won over many of his haters thanks to his hard work inside the ring. His recent matches with AJ Styles have caused a lot of people to change their opinion on John Cena, and Cena himself has no problem acknowledging AJ’s talent.

“[AJ] has pushed the envelope, spoken his mind and really challenged me. Testament to AJ, I think he is one of, it not the best, Superstars to step in a WWE ring on a nightly basis.”

John Cena and AJ Styles will get their chance to clash once again when Cena defends his title in the Elimination Chamber on Sunday. Although Cena will be walking into the match with the title, he’ll have to push himself to the limit in order to walk out with it as AJ Styles, Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin, The Miz and Dean Ambrose will all be trying to get their hands on the top prize in the industry.
