Sunday night Braun Strowman won the Money in the Bank briefcase, and he now has a guaranteed title shot.

Brock Lesnar is the current WWE Universal Champion, and it’s expected that Brock’s next title defense will take place at SummerSlam in August.

Dave Meltzer talked about Braun’s big Money in the Bank win on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he noted that someone hinted to him that Braun could play a major role at WWE’s biggest party of the summer.

“So I had a conversation with somebody a couple weeks ago and it was about Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns at SummerSlam and they didn’t say this but now when I look back and Braun Strowman won it was kind of hinted,” Meltzer said via Ringside News.

Meltzer went on to speculate that Roman Reigns could defeat Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam only for Braun Strowman to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase immediately after.

“But something along those lines because Roman does have to beat Brock Lesnar before he leaves. Because he’s lost so many times that he’s got to do it but if they end the show with Roman winning people are going to freak out, it’s New York it’s just going to be an ugly scene. If they end the show with Braun winning, with Brock losing so he’s out of the picture but Roman Reigns winning but losing in the same night it will be an incredibly happy ending it will be so satisfying I mean they could do that too.”
