WWE has been on a bit of signing spree since Triple H took over creative last summer and it was recently reported that the company is interested in former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega. It seems that Kenny Omega isn’t the only AEW star that WWE is interested in as Fightful Select is reporting that the company has their eyes on Brian Cage.

According to the report Cage’s deal was set to expire imminently, but AEW hoped to extend it to the end of June due to time that Brian Cage missed due to injury. However, Brian Cage pushed back on that idea as he’s interested in exploring free agency.

WWE is reportedly interested in Brian Cage if he becomes a free agent and they are open to having conversations with him. It’s being said that AEW and Brian Cage have agreed to work together through March for the ROH Supercard of Honor pay-per-view. It was also noted that some of the time that was added to Cage’s deal was because he was injured. People familiar with the situation noted that the idea of Cage staying with AEW has not been ruled out as the company has offered him and extension similar to his current deal.

Originally Brian Cage’s AEW deal was set to expire sometime between late January mid-February. It’s being said that he has some “heavy hitters” in his corner as of late with Chris Jericho being someone who has publicly put his work over.
