Over the last few months there’s been a lot of talk about The Elite’s future, but ultimately all four members of the group decided to stay with All Elite Wrestling.

SEScoops.com is reporting that people close to AEW have claimed Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and Adam Page were likely heading to WWE if any of the four of them had become a free agent. However, Tony Khan renewed a push to get The Elite signed which included more money and the ability for them to make their own schedules.

A source noted that prior to the new contracts being signed Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks were making seven figures with Adam Page in the six figure range. All four men reportedly received raises which put them in the million-dollar club.

“The first contract with AEW was about making sure they could retire,” one source said. “That contract took care of them for good. This contract takes care of their kids, their grandkids, college tuition, all of it. This is about the next thing”

The belief is that The Elite would have likely signed with WWE if any of the four men hit free agency as WWE was seen as a company with more to offer by some members of the group.

“It was very attractive, the idea of seeing if they could stay true to what they want to do in this business and doing it in WWE,” a source noted. “It would be very hard, almost everyone fails at it. But then you see Cody (Rhodes).”
