rey mysterio

Rey Mysterio has been wrestling for decades and he recently celebrated his 20th anniversary with WWE on Raw this week. Throughout the course of Rey’s time with WWE he’s been able to defeat some of the biggest names in the business, and capture numerous championships, but no one can wrestle forever.

Recently the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion spoke to BT Sport about possible retirement plans, and he noted that he’s considered retiring in 3 years when he turns 50.

“With wrestling, you know, I’ve always heard from others that they just go until they can’t go no more. There’s really no start and end date. You just run through it until you decide to step away and do something else. For me, I’ve never had an end date plan. It’s always been, ‘I’m just going to keep going.’ Now I’m getting closer to my 50s and I see my son wrestling, I do tell myself, ‘Okay, I want to go three more years. I don’t want to go past 50.’ But then I remind myself, ‘What if you feel good? Can you still go another year?’ But I think as of right now, my date has always been, ‘Don’t go over 50.'”

Rey and Dominik Mysterio will be in action at the SummerSlam premium live event on Saturday, July 30 when they face off against The Judgement Day. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
