Stardust has noticeably been absent from WWE television since his father, Dusty Rhodes (RIP), passed away. He was however backstage at Raw on Monday but WWE decided not to use him. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the company hasn’t brought him back because they aren’t ready to turn Stardust face at this point and the feeling is that the audience won’t want to boo him due to the fact that he just lost his father.

It will be interesting to see how they bring him back. Of course before he left WWE was playing up a feud between Stardust and “Arrow” star Stephen Amell. Since then there have been a lot of rumors and speculation when it comes to a possible match between Stardust and Amell. It was at one point being reported by multiple sources that the two would face off at SummerSlam but the recent rumor going around is that the match has been scrapped.

For what it’s worth Stephen Amell still seems to be teasing the match via Twitter. When recently asked about future goals he alluded to a wrestling match and his Twitter page still features a picture of him face to face with Stardust.

Of course we’ve been reading a lot of comments lately and it’s not hard to see that a lot of you guys want to see Cody drop the Stardust gimmick and go back to just being Cody Rhodes. In any case it seems that Cody/Stardust is ready to return, WWE is just waiting for the right time to pull the trigger.
