WWE has released many Superstars over the last few years and former Impact World Champion EC3 was let go in April of 2020. That was EC3’s second run with the company as he previously signed with WWE in 2009 worked with the company under the name Derrick Bateman before he was released in 2013.

During a recent appearance on the LI #1 Pro Wrestling Broadcast with Monty & Pharaoh, EC3 was asked about his relationship with Vince McMahon throughout his two runs with the company, and he indicated that they didn’t really have one.

“There wasn’t one, really. Talked to him a couple of times. I would say the man I wanted him to be and expected him to be, the leader that I heard he was from the past, I did not see. I saw more of a shell of that, sort of a feeble old man, as opposed to the leader that you’d wanna run through a wall for.”

When asked if Triple H was the leader EC3 thought he could be EC3 responded by saying, “In NXT, yeah for sure. Very much so.” When asked about his relationship with Triple H he said, “It was good.”

Since parting ways with WWE in 2020, EC3 has been pushing the Control Your Narrative promotion, and he also worked with ROH for a few months before promotion went on hiatus and was then purchased by Tony Khan.
