Dean Ambrose is one of the biggest stars in WWE currently, but back in the summer of 2016, he was the first SmackDown draft pick and the reigning WWE Champion.
This week on Raw, The Miz talked about this in his promo with Ambrose before stating that he lost all his momentum and was hardly even part of WrestleMania when his Intercontinental Championship match was relegated to the kickoff show at the last minute and this was because he was lazy.
According to Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, it seems that when a comment or statement like this is made through a promo on WWE TV, it is because a certain official backstage actually thinks it.
This means that someone backstage believes that Ambrose has become complacent with his place in the company and that he is getting a certain amount of heat for it. SmackDown gambled when they took Dean Ambrose as their first draft pick and for all intents and purposes, he failed as the main star of the brand.
AJ Styles luckily stepped up and controlled SmackDown in the months that followed and the WWE Universe seemingly realized that Ambrose isn’t supposed to be the top guy. What does this mean for his future on the Raw brand though? Does this mean his championship could be the next thing to be taken?

could be the second coming of Roddy Piper if they let him go back to
being that heel he was on the indies. He;’s lazy in the sense that he
knows they don’t give a shit about him so why should he bother. But that’s just WWE booking. I mean ever since they broke up the Shield, he’s always been the third man out. Roman is the star. Seth is the star. Dean is just Dean to them.
