Bryan Danielson has been lucky enough to achieve a lot throughout the course of his wrestling career, but now the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion is getting ready to wind things down.

Last year Bryan Danielson confirmed that 2024 will be his last year as a full-time wrestler. However, that doesn’t mean he’ll be hanging up his boots for good as he recently told Tokyo Sports that he expects to wrestle 5 to 10 matches per year once he makes the move to part-time.

“I’ve been fighting every week for a long time, and I’m trying to narrow down my matches. After this year, I think I’ll try to have 5 to 10 matches a year.”

Bryan also named future opponents he could potentially face when he added, “I can fight as a junior, so I would like to fight Hiromu Takahashi or El Desperado. In the heavyweight division, it would be Naito (Tetsuya). He is very popular in Japan. But in my opinion, he is the best. The person I want to play with is Hiroshi Tanahashi. Can I have one more? (Takagi) I’d like to mention Shingo’s name as well. Oh, and (Tomohiro) Ishii as well! There are just too many and I’m in trouble.”

Bryan Danielson will be taking on a tough opponent very soon as he is currently set to face off against Kazuchika at Wrestle Kingdom 18 on January 4. Stay tuned for more updates.
