Big E has been a mainstay on WWE programming for years, bit it’s been a while since fans have seen the former WWE Champion. Last year Big E broke his neck during a match on Friday Night SmackDown when he took an overhead belly to belly suplex on the floor, and he’s unfortunately been out of action ever since.

At this point in time there’s still no official word on whether or not Big E will be able to return to the ring. Big E is still recovering, but he recently told PopCulture that he still loves getting involved in other ways that don’t include in-ring competition.

“Being able to go to these college campuses and talk to athletes and let them know about WWE and the opportunities here … really resonates [with me]. Because I remember being 23 years old [and] a ‘failed’ football player at Iowa dealing with a bunch of injuries and then trying to figure out [my] entire life. I really love being involved in that way and I’m sure there will be other ways as well that I can be involved while I’m not in the ring.”

It was recently reported that WWE considered a WrestleMania appearance for Big E this year as part of The New Day, but it seems that those plans were nixed due to the injury Kofi Kingston suffered a few weeks ago. Stay tuned for more updates on Big E’s future as they become available.
