In recent weeks fans have seen NXT go through a lot of changes as it has been rebranded and reintroduced to the wrestling world as NXT 2.0. Fans have seen some fresh faces step into the spotlight as of late and Joe Gacy seems to be getting a lot of attention due to his new “woke” gimmick.
Gacy has made his way to the ring recently on NXT to cut promos talking about how the ring is safe space, and how it’s his goal to resolve conflicts.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE is very happy with the mainstream publicity that the “woke left gimmick” has gotten for WWE, including coverage on FOX News.
It seems that the powers that be are fully behind Joe Gacy’s current gimmick, so it will be interesting to see how far he goes in the new NXT 2.0. Stay tuned for updates.
