Back in 2014 Alberto Del Rio parted ways with WWE and following his departure he had many offers from various wrestling organizations around the world. Del Rio ended up working for several different promotions including Lucha Underground, where he worked as Alberto El Patron.
One place where Alberto didn’t work during his time away from TNA. Del Rio has been doing promotional work for WWE in India and he recently spoke to IndianExpress.com about why he decided not to sign with TNA saying that ultimately it was a money issue.
“At the end of the day you can love what you do, but you have to be rewarded. If somebody wants to have me in their organisation, they have to pay me, and there is no other place like WWE, which is a major league of progress and growth. TNA
does not have the wherewithal as WWE does,”
Alberto Del Rio was also asked about The Great Khali who is from India and Del Rio noted that the two of them are not friends.
“I know who Khali is. We worked together in WWE. It is just we were never friends, and hence I have no interest in meeting or seeing him or even talk to him,”
He also said that he doesn’t know much about the actors and actresses in Bollywood, but if someone offered him a role in a film he would love to do it.
