the rock

The Rock is one of the most popular WWE superstars of all time, but now he’s on a whole different level. The Rock was named the highest paid actor in the world in 2016 and it’s safe to say that he has successfully conquered Hollywood.

Triple H recently appeared on ESPN First Take, and he was asked how he stops Hollywood from poaching talent from the WWE. He said the short answer is “you don’t.” Triple H also talked about what makes WWE different from Hollywood, and why a big star like The Rock constantly feels the urge to return.

“You get nothing like you get with the WWE. When 101,000 fans are chanting your name and going crazy, there is nothing, I mean nothing, that gives you that adrenaline rush like that. It’s why The Rock comes back. He’s busy trust me. He’s making movies. He’s making TV shows. His production company Seven Bucks is all over the place. He owns Hollywood pretty much. He still gravitates back to the WWE because of the fanbase, because of that connection you can’t get anywhere else. It’s visceral, it’s palpable, it just is what we do. We create memories that when you go to something like WrestleMania, that memory lasts a lifetime. People forget what you say and what you do, but they remember how they make you feel.”

Triple H also talks about acquiring international talent and more in the video below.

This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw featured more hype for WrestleMania 33 and the show drew 3.048 million viewers according to ShowBuzzDaily. Viewership was down this week compared to the 3.232 million viewers who watched last week’s show.

This week the first hour of WWE Raw drew 3.163 million viewers, followed by the second hour which drew 3.177 million viewers. The third and final hour drew 2.866 million viewers.
