naomi

Naomi has dealt with a lot in her career to become one of the most popular female Superstars in WWE today. At this point her merchandise is selling well, she has plenty of fans who love her, and her entrance is one of the coolest WWE has to offer as she transforms any arena into a giant dance club while everyone Feels The Glow. But all of those amazing positives still won’t keep haters from doing their thing.

Naomi is a very strong woman. She had to overcome a lot even becoming a pro wrestler as she transformed her knowledge of cheerleading into sports entertainment. But the former Funkadactyl is now also a former SmackDown Women’s Champion and she’s not done chasing the gold yet.

However, there is, unfortunately, a portion of the fanbase who can’t seem to get past the color of Naomi’s skin. One fan commented on social media calling her a “monkey” and telling her, “America is not your country, Africa is.” Naomi read these comments and I’m sure they hurt because reading ignorant things is extremely frustrating for enlightened individuals.

But Naomi didn’t respond with a hateful reply as she simply said: “I deal with negativity and racism like this on a daily basis but I don’t allow it to bring me down I encourage others who are experiencing the same or any type of bullying to be strong stay positive & not let the actions of others change who you are.”

This was an outstanding reply from someone who will hopefully be around for a very long time spreading this same message in WWE. Naomi is young enough to have years left with WWE and even after her time in the ring is over, the Total Divas star could certainly find another role in the business if she chooses to.

Hopefully, this racist fan rhetoric is a huge minority in the WWE Universe but it was pretty excellent how Naomi dealt with this kind of hate while bringing awareness to a greater social issue and encouraging others to be strong as well and Feel The Glow.
