It’s really quite amazing when two Superstars can stick together pretty much their entire careers. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn might not have intended for their careers to parallel in such a way, but it certainly turned out that way.

Owens recently appeared on the In This Corner podcast where he was asked about his relationship with Sami Zayn.

“I would say that we are more like brothers than we are friends. You know you don’t choose your relatives, you don’t choose who your brother is, you don’t choose who your sister is, you don’t choose your family. You were born into a family. In this case, we weren’t born into each others families but we, from the start of our careers when we started wrestling on the independent scene in the U.S and even back home in Canada. Once we started getting our name out there and more recognized, people just booked us together all the time and that wasn’t our choice.”

Kevin Owens went on to give a little history surrounding his relationship with Sami Zayn. After starting in International Wrestling Syndicate together the pairing of Kevin Steen vs El Generico became the stuff of legend. Everyone wanted the match on their promotion and the future WWE Superstars were more than happy to give the people what they wanted.

“We have known each other for over 15 years… We have been friends, we have been enemies, we have been at each other’s throats. We have been by each others side, we have done it all. Every kind of match imaginable, we have been in pretty much, except for maybe the odd Hell in a Cell for example. We have put each other through a lot and we have been there for each other through a lot. I think that just translates into chemistry a lot of times.”
