Hideo Itami is no joke and neither is his GTS finisher which is the reason why CM Punk lifted it so long ago. But there’s something special about the way Hideo Itami pulls off the Go To Sleep. It might be his innovative approach or the way he snaps it like he’s pulling the trigger of a gun. But the main difference might also be how hard he drives his knee into his opponent’s face.

If you ask The Brian Kendrick, he can certainly attest to how hardcore the GTS can be. He suffered a loss on Raw this week during Hideo Itami’s first one-on-one encounter on Raw but that wasn’t all that he lost because when all was said and done, Kendrick was also losing a good amount of blood as well.

Now there’s a new update on Kendrick’s condition following taking a knee to the face on Raw. WWE reports The Brian Kendrick suffered a fractured nose and orbital bone during the GTS he took on Raw.

This is quite a setback for the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and he could require some time while his injury heals. After all, Austin Aries suffered a broken orbital bone at the hands (or foot) of Shinsuke Nakamura and it caused him to lose a lot of ring time.

There’s no word at this time just how much time Kendrick will have to miss, but one thing’s for sure this proves the GTS’s power. Let’s hope other Superstars will take notice of Hideo Itami so they can try their best to avoid any knee-to-face contact in the future. But with a guy like Itami running around, that might be a hard trick to pull off.

Needless to say, The Brian Kendrick could have probably figured out a couple ways he would have rather spent his Christmas night in Chicago than taking care of a busted face.
