Last week’s episode of AEW Rampage featured CM Punk’s return, and the show got the wrestling world talking. Punk was confirmed for his first appearance on Dynamite this week, and he met Tony Schiavone in the ring for an interview.

CM Punk was asked by Tony Schiavone what is the one thing that brought him back to wrestling, and he named up and comers like Jungle Boy, Brian Pillman Jr. but he said it’s all about one guy. The fans chanted for Darby Allin, and then Punk said, “So, I’m gonna go ahead and retire the nickname Voice of the Voiceless because I don’t need to be that anymore. This place has a voice, and there’s people back there that listen.”

Punk said he looks at Darby Allin and the other young talents in AEW and he asks himself if he can still be the Best in the World, and the answer starts with Darby. He said he sees himself in Darby, and Darby would have been his favorite wrestler when he was 15.

CM Punk asked himself if he can still be the Best in the World, and the fans chanted “yes” and CM Punk smiled and said, “that’s somebody else’s schtick, and you might need to be a little more patient.”

He then said his match with Darby will be less about proving the haters wrong, and more about proving himself right. All Out will air on Sunday, September 5th.
