AJ Styles shocked the world a few weeks ago when he won the WWE United States Championship at Madison Square Garden, and Kevin Owens shocked the world when he won the title back at Battleground on Sunday night.

The new United States Champion kicked off this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, and he announced that he would be bringing the Kevin Owens US Open Challenge back next week. AJ Styles took exception to what Owens had to say, so he made his way down to the ring. Styles told Owens he wanted a title shot, but AJ Styles was interrupted by Kevin Owens’ former best friend.

Chris Jericho’s music hit and Jericho made his way down to the ring to a massive pop from the crowd. Owens asked Jericho what he was doing, and Jericho told him, “quiet, quiet, quiet.”

Jericho said he left on a stretcher the last time he faced off against Kevin Owens, but he’s back baby, and he wants his rematch for the US Title.

AJ Styles told Jericho that he’s the next guy in line for the title, and Jericho asked if he was trying to cut in line, then he asked him if he knows what happens when people cut in line. Jericho said someone cut him in the grocery store the other day, and Styles said, “Let me guess, you put him on the list?”

Jericho responded by saying he punched him in the face and put him in the Walls of Jericho in front of the canned corn. Chris Jericho then put AJ Styles on the List of Jericho.

Kevin Owens tried to leave, but Shane McMahon stopped him.

Shane announced that KO will be defending the US Title against AJ Styles and Chris Jericho tonight in a triple threat match. Stay tuned for updates.
