This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw focused on the fallout from the Survivor Series pay-per-view, and Seth Rollins kicked things off with a big speech.
The fans in Chicago immediately started to chant for CM Punk, and Seth Responded with the following:
“I tried to get CM Punk here, I’m sorry, he didn’t want to show up. He wants to sit behind a desk in Los Angeles and talk about a change he’s too afraid to make himself.”
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon was furious when Seth mentioned CM Punk. Vince McMahon’s rule is that you don’t push the idea of a match on TV that you can’t deliver, which is why he was upset.
It’s being said that unless there’s a super secret agreement between Rollins and McMahon, and Vince was trying to fool everyone backstage with his reaction, he was legitimately upset.
At this point it’s no big secret that Seth Rollins wants to face CM Punk, but as of this writing Punk has given no indication that he has solid plans to return to the ring in WWE.
