During the “Superstar Shakeup” after WrestleMania 33, the decision was made to make a change. Byron Saxton and David Otunga switched brands, but the latter was replaced on the Raw announce team by Booker T after it was revealed Otunga was shooting a movie.

Originally, the WWE Hall of Famer was only meant to be a temporary fix until Otunga finished filming, but another decision has been made to keep Booker T at the announce desk through the summer. However, Otunga may have lost his spot for good for the following reason.
It’s being reported by Rajah that WWE officials feel that Booker T has come across better at the announce table than Otunga has, so the latter being gone for weeks on end gave Booker the chance to take the job. However, David Otunga will still be utilized on the WWE Network.
There have also been some complaints about Otunga’s commentary being lackluster. A lot of that could be the fact that Booker T is a WWE Hall of Famer who has a rapport with the WWE Universe. Meanwhile, Otunga’s WWE career wasn’t nearly as grand. Of course, not everyone loves Booker’s commentary either, but the role is to backup Michael Cole and Corey Graves.
Otunga was awful on commentary. Keep Booker for the long haul.
I second that. Man…Booker looks jacked!!
They’re both awful. Booker is slightly less awful, so he should keep the job I suppose if they’re determined to have terrible commentators.
Booker may not be the best commentator ever, but he’s better than Otunga, and as a hall of famer with an outstanding career, there’s an air of his opinions carrying weight. He said definitely the better choice.
