Samoa Joe has had a lot of success with the Coquina Clutch recently. Sunday night at Extreme Rules he used the move to become the new number one contender to Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship before sending The Beast himself a message on Raw last night by choking Paul Heyman out using the Coquina Clutch.

Whilst, many of the WWE Universe are concerned about the move and Brock Lesnar’s chances of being able to counter it when the duo collide in four weeks time at Great Balls Of Fire, there is actually a way to counter the move into a much more painful ankle lock, as Reddit user RamonesRazor pointed out recently.

He said: ““He’s committing one of the cardinal sins of grappling. You should NEVER cross your ankles once you have taken control of your opponents back. In that position, Joe has set himself up to be tapped up to an EXTREMELY painful ankle lock”

The reversal can also be seen in the video below:

It seems that both Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar have nasty submission moves with the Universal Champion being able to pull out the Kimura Lock if needed. Samoa Joe has made this feud personal now by going after Paul Heyman, and if anyone was going to be able to find a way out of Joe’s famous submission, it would be Brock Lesnar.
