WWE recently announced that Paul Heyman would be stepping into the role of Executive Director on Monday Night Raw, and Heyman’s influence was felt on this week’s episode.
The main event saw Ricochet retain his title over AJ Styles, and Ricochet main evented Raw for the second week in a row.
It was noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Paul Heyman is high on Ricochet, and that Ricochet is getting pushed because he’s seen as a guy who can appeal to teenagers.
After Ricochet defeated AJ Styles in the main event, Styles turned heel and reunited with The Club, so it appears that the feud between Styles and the current US Champion is far from over.
