Opening Segment For WWE Friday Night SmackDown Revealed

This week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown is set to air live from the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the show will continue to focus on the build for the upcoming Backlash premium live event.

Ahead of SmackDown tonight WWE has confirmed that current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will be kicking off the show. WWE posted the following preview for Cody’s segment on SmackDown:

“After addressing Randy Orton’s vicious punt attack and the aftermath of WrestleMania last week, what will be the next challenge facing Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes?

The American Nightmare kicks off SmackDown tonight. Experience all the action on SmackDown, Friday at 8 ET/7 CT on USA.”

Cody appeared on last week’s episode of SmackDown and made it clear that he’s ready and willing to take on whoever is looking to step up and challenge him for his title, so it will be interesting to see how things play out tonight.

It’s also been confirmed that Ricky Saints will be making his debut tonight, Charlotte Flair will be facing off against Jacy Jayne, and Jacob Fatu will be returning to the blue brand after securing a title match against Roman Reigns at Backlash.
