James Ellsworth was released from WWE in the fall of 2017, and fans were sad to see him go. Ellsworth made the most of his opportunities in WWE, and he became a unique character on SmackDown Live.
But now Ellsworth is returning to the independent scene, and he’s being advertised for a match with former WWE Superstar Emma (Tenille Dashwood) at an upcoming Big Time Wrestling event in Altoona, PA on March 30th.
Intergender matches have sort of become James Ellsworth’s thing as of late, but he’s also looking to put some gold around his waist.
NWA World Champion Nick Aldis is holding an open challenge for his title, and he requested a match with a man who is either a former World Champion, or has beat a World Champion.
James Ellsworth fits that criteria as he has a victory over AJ Styles.
Ellsworth answered the challenge on Sunday during the Championship Wrestling From Hollywood event.
It appears that the match took place on Sunday night, and it also appears that Ellsworth didn’t win the gold, but hopefully for his sake this is just the first of many World Title shots toc ome.
The first challenger in #TheAldisCrusade revealed.
Per @RealNickAldis request – a man who either was a Worlds Champion or beat a Worlds Champion.
That man is James Ellsworth @realellsworth
