Even though the event is still months away, there’s been plenty of talk about what matches fans could be seeing at WrestleMania 35 next year.

It’s rumored that The Rock is considering a return to the ring at WrestleMania 35, and it sounds like a potential opponent for the former WWE Champion has already been selected.

Joe Peisich recently noted on Barnburner’s Fired Up podcast that WWE officials are hoping to book The Rock vs. Roman Reigns for WrestleMania 35 next year (via Ringside News).

“The Rock, they are negotiating possibly being at The Royal Rumble and being at WrestleMania and from what I hear the main event of WrestleMania in New York is penciled in if they get The Rock. It will be The Rock against Roman Reigns.”

Furthermore, the Wrestling Observer is reporting that it’s entirely up to The Rock and his schedule in regards to whether or not the match will happen.

Regns also teased a possible match with The Rock in the book “Creating the Mania : An Inside Look at How Wrestlemania Comes to Life” by Jon Robinson.

“I think he’d be down with it…If it’s good for business, if it’s good for my career, I don’t see why not. If it’s all positive and he’s with it, I’ll take a slap punch, Rock bottom me, baby…just let me kick out at two.”
