Throughout 2021 fans have seen a lot of names part ways with WWE, and now it seems that a former NXT Women’s Champion is now a free agent as the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Kairi Sane’s WWE contract has expired.
According to the report WWE wanted to renew Kairi Sane’s deal, and they wanted her to return to wrestle. However, Sane did not want to return to the United States, and the travel back and forth wouldn’t work for her right now due to COVID-19.
Kairi Sane has opened a health club in Tokyo, and she has expressed interest in wrestling again. It’s being said that Stardom would like to bring her back, but there are currently no set plans for her to work with the promotion.
Sane last wrestled on the July 20, 2020 episode of Monday Night Raw when she faced off against Bayley. She last appeared on WWE programming earlier this year when she did Japanese commentary for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
