WWE is going to go through some major changes next year Bruce Prichard is set to retire from his role as Executive Director – Creative Writing & Talent (CWT) following WrestleMania 43. With Prichard retiring it was recently reported that Shawn Michaels is expected to step into the role.
Now the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that as of 10/29 the plan was for Prichard’s responsibilities to be split between Bobby Roode and Ed Koskey. It was noted that Koskey has already picked up a ton of the items on Prichard’s desk.
Recently PWInsider reported that Shawn Michaels would be taking over Bruce Prichard’s role, but the Observer notes that would require HBK to travel twice a week to television. It would be difficult for Michaels to keep his position with NXT where he is valuable for a number of reasons. However, it’s being said that the decision is likely to change multiple times between now and April.
The Observer claims that reports of Michaels taking over Prichard’s role are overblown. Michaels is reportedly up for doing more, but there’s a lot of administrative work involved with the Prichard role. Shawn Michaels has never done that as Matt Bloom handles that aspect in NXT, while Koskey has done it for years.
