It’s been a while since fans have seen John Cena on WWE programming, but that’s all going to change soon as the 17 time champion has been confirmed for both Raw and NXT next week.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that the expectation is John Cena’s return to Monday Night Raw next week will be tied to the John Cena Classic. It’s expected that we’ll finally be getting an announcement regarding the details for the John Cena Classic and a location and date for the event.
It’s also being reported that there have been an incredible amount of meetings and creative discussions about the event ever since Cena announced the John Cena Classic earlier this year. According to the report the company wants to make sure that it looks and feels fresh.
Various individuals who don’t typically weigh in on these type of projects were consulted such as Shawn Michaels and AJ Styles. Initially the idea was pitched for Club WWE, but a source has indicated that the John Cena Classic will likely end up streaming on a different platform in order to expand the visibility and reach.
Stay tuned for updates.
