It’s been a huge week for WWE, and some big returns have taken place on both Raw and SmackDown Live.
Kevin Owens made his return during the opening segment of SmackDown this week, and right after that Matt Hardy returned to team with his brother Jeff and together they defeated The Bar.
It was the first time Matt Hardy had appeared on WWE programming since August of 2018, and according to PWInsider the word going around backstage is that WWE invoked a clause in Matt and Jeff Hardy’s existing contracts that will roll their deals over for another year.
Matt Hardy recently noted on Twitter that his WWE contract was close to coming to an end, and it’s being reported that had WWE not invoked the clause for the third year, their deals would have expired next month.
It seems that The Hardys will be working as a team moving forward, as they were asked about their future in a backstage interview and Matt said that they’re back together to prove they’re the greatest tag team in all of time and space.
