It’s that time of year when the stars of Raw and SmackDown Live are getting ready for the annual Money in the Bank pay-per-view, and everyone’s waiting to see who will walk away with a briefcase.
So far a few stars have been confirmed for men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches, and more qualifying matches are set to take place in the weeks to come.
WWE recently announced that next week The New Day will face The Bar in a tag team match on SmackDown Live, and the winning team will be able to choose one member to compete in the Money in the Bank ladder match.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider recently speculated that it will be Big E who ends up advancing to the match, and that he could be in line for a big push. He went on to say that if Big E is going to get a push, now is the best time to do it while New Day is still popular, and that the team could potentially continue with just Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.
This week on SmackDown Live, Rusev faced Daniel Bryan in the main event, and he qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match when he hit Bryan with the Machka Kick and pinned him.
Rusev later took to Twitter to comment on his victory when he posted the following:
It’s not called UPSET it’s just #RusevDay
