There’s never a good time for a professional wrestler to be injured, but now it seems that another WWE star has been sidelined. Originally Layla Diggs was set to challenge Zaria for the Women’s North American Championship during this week’s episode of NXT, but Robert Stone has announced that Diggs is no longer able to compete due to injury.
“NXT General Manager Robert Stone here to deliver the unfortunate news that this past Saturday in Sebring, Florida at a NXT live event, Layla Diggs got injured. Therefore her championship opportunity against Zaria for the North American Title isn’t going to happen this Tuesday.
However, I promised the NXT Universe a North American Championship match, and a North American Championship match they will get. I’m currently working on a replacement as we speak. I will see you live on the CW tomorrow night for NXT.”

At this point in time it’s not clear who will be replacing Layla Diggs, but Stone confirmed that the Women’s North American Title will be defended during NXT on Tuesday night.
Other matches confirmed for the show include Lola Vice vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Kali Armstrong in a number one contender match for the NXT Women’s Championship, and Vanity Project vs. Sean Legacy & Dorian Van Dux for the NXT Tag Team Championship. Naraku vs. Tate Wilder is also set for this week’s episode.
