Over the last few years WWE has expanded their premium live events in a major way as WrestleMania and SummerSlam have both become two night events. There’s been a lot of speculation regarding what the future holds for the Royal Rumble, and it seems that the show could become a two night event sooner than later.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that WWE seriously considered turning the Royal Rumble premium live event into a two night format, and there were some internally who thought that would be the direction this year.
However, it’s being said that as things currently stand the Royal Rumble is expected to remain a one night event, possibly for the final time. WrestleVotes was told that there is significant interest within WWE when it comes to eventually turning the Royal Rumble into a multi-night destination event.
Earlier this week WWE officially confirmed the location for the next Royal Rumble when it was announced that the PLE will emanate from State Farm Stadium in Arizona on February, 27, 2027.
The 2026 Royal Rumble emanated from Saudi Arabia for the first time ever and it was won by Roman Reigns. Next year WrestleMania 43 will emanate from Saudi Arabia as well, so it will be interesting to see who wins the Royal Rumble matches and punches their ticket to the WrestleMania main event.
