You never know when you might see someone make their return when you watch WWE programming, and during last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Lacey Evans wrestled her first televised match since March. Evans faced off against Zelina Vega in a Money in the Bank qualifying match and it was Vega who picked up the victory.
Even though Lacey is back on TV it doesn’t seem that there are any big plans for her at the moment as Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Lacey Evans, “is still not getting a push in WWE.”
WWE has tried several times in the past to push Lacey Evans to the top of the card and a few years ago she found herself in a high profile feud with Becky Lynch following WrestleMania 35. The company also paired her with Ric Flair on screen during her feud with Charlotte, but that angle was dropped because Lacey had to take time off to focus on her pregnancy.
When Lacey returned to TV last week she returned wearing a drill instructor uniform which was similar to what Sgt. Slaughter used to wear. The look has proved to be somewhat controversial as Sgt. Slaughter’s daughter called Evans out on social media and you can get more on that here.
