WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event is set to air live from Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday and the show is set to feature the in-ring debut of Lil Yachty who will be wrestling Baron Corbin at the event. If Yachty survives five minutes, Trick Williams will get a shot at the United States Championship, but if Corbin beats him Trick Williams won’t be able to challenge Corbin for the title again.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that the initial plan for Lil Yachty at Sunday Night’s Main Event was for him to perform a concert at the show instead of wrestling Baron Corbin. Earlier this week WWE announced instead that Quavo will be performing an unreleased track from his upcoming album QROMELIFE.
According to the report TKO was set on having some type of musical performance at Sunday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta. The idea is viewed as a way to enhance the overall experience for fans who are in attendance, and it’s also meant to serve as a soft launch for testing the waters on including musical performances on bigger WWE shows moving forward.
It’s being said that the long-term vision is for the performances to be along the line of halftime performances at major sporting events. The idea is to add a musical spectacle that can become another attraction for big WWE shows when the appropriate city and atmosphere align.
