According to the Wall Street Journal the WWE board is investigating a secret $3 million dollar settlement that Vince McMahon paid to a former employee that he allegedly had an affair with.

The former employee worked as a paralegal and was hired by WWE in 2019, but left the company in January of 2022. A separation agreement reportedly bars the employee from talking about her relationship with Vince McMahon. The WWE board has said that the relationship between the former employee and Vince McMahon was consensual and the company fully complying with the investigation.

The investigation has been underway since April and has led to the board uncovering non-disclosure agreements that involve claims linked to Vince McMahon and WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis. The investigation has revealed that Vince McMahon used his own personal funds to pay the former employees, and he also used his personal funds to pay for complaints made against John Laurinaitis.

There’s currently no word on how many non-disclosure agreements were uncovered by the investigation, but the total amount paid has been determined to be in the millions. According to the report the WWE board learned about the $3 million dollar settlement through a series of emails that were sent from someone claiming to be a friend of the former employee.

The emails alleged that Vince McMahon increased the former employees salary from $100,000 to $200,000 after he began a sexual relationship with her and that he “gave her like a toy” to John Laurinaitis. The anonymous person also reportedly claimed, “My friend was so scared so she quit after Vince McMahon and lawyer Jerry paid her millions of dollars to shut up.”

Vince McMahon’s lawyer Jerry McDevitt stated that, “WWE did not pay any monies” to her “on her departure.”
