There’s no shortage of companies wrestlers can work for nowadays, and it seems that WWE will be putting maximum effort into locking down talents into new contracts.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that talents in WWE are being told that new contracts will be way up from past deals when the new television money comes in later this year.

It was also noted that because wrestling is now a TV driven business, the old model of paying based on house show numbers and PPV buys is outdated.

There’s reportedly been talking of contracts being set up like other sports where talents are signed for a certain figure, and that’s what they make, with anything above either being a bonus or a percentage of merchandise sales.
