The WWE women’s division has come a very long way over the past few years. It wasn’t all that long ago that the company put more emphasis on the way the female members of the roster looked, as opposed to how well they could wrestle.

There have been many women who have came and gone from WWE over the years, and former WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn decided to part ways with the company in 2014.

The former WWE star was starting to get over during her feud with AJ Lee, and she wasn’t your typical female member of the WWE roster. Kaitlyn was much more muscular then her contemporaries at the time, and she was equal parts brawn and beauty.

Quite a few members of the WWE fanbase admired Kaitlyn’s good looks, but apparently Vince McMahon wasn’t on the same page with some members of the WWE Universe.

Former WWE writer Kevin Eck recently posted a new blog where he outlined five different storylines that he pitched to WWE, and he went into detail about a romance that he had pitched for Cody Rhodes and Kaitlyn which was introduced while Rhodes was working with Damien Sandow.

The storyline did make it to TV, but according to Eck, Vince McMahon ended the on screen romance due to the return of the Bella Twins.

“My initial pitch of Kaitlyn being attracted to Rhodes actually did make it onto TV, but I could tell McMahon wasn’t all that interested in it. When Brie and Nikki Bella returned to WWE, the storyline was abruptly dropped after a couple weeks because McMahon decided to align the Bella twins with Rhodes and Sandow.”

Eck also claims that Vince made it clear in the past that he didn’t find Kaitlyn attractive.

“McMahon, who had made it clear on several occasions he did not find Kaitlyn’s muscular physique all that attractive, replied (and I’m paraphrasing): ‘If one of the Bellas showed interest in Cody, why would he ever look at Kaitlyn again?'”

The former WWE writer also went on to joke that he stood up for Kaitlyn on behalf of the male audience, but then he came clean.

“Undeterred, I said, ‘Because plenty of men in our audience think Kaitlyn is hot whether you think so or not.’ Actually, I didn’t say that. I believe my response was, ‘Fair enough, sir.'”

It’s a shame that Vince McMahon wasn’t more supportive of Kaitlyn as she was a shining star in what was a very dim division at the time. Her feud with AJ Lee was just about all the division had going for it a few years ago, but after Kaitlyn got frustrated with a lack of direction for her character and the division as a whole, she decided to pursue other things.

Nowadays she’s using her real name Celeste Bonin, and she runs her own clothing company Celestial Bodiez.

  1. Obviously, this old white man ain’t gonna get down w/ a real woman like that! Although, I’ll give him props for Jackie, Sable & Trish…

  2. She moved on to other things because she wanted to take the illegal supplements her husband was taking and knew she couldn’t while still in the WWE.
