When Jeff Hardy made his AEW debut last year fans were thrilled to see The Hardys together once again. It seemed that The Hardys were primed to take over the AEW tag team division, but unfortunately their momentum was halted when Jeff Hardy was arrested which resulted in AEW suspending him.

The Charismatic Enigma hasn’t appeared on AEW programming in some time, but Matt Hardy recently shared an encouraging update on his brother’s status while speaking with Isiah Kassidy. Matt noted that Jeff recently underwent eye surgery, and he’s hoping that his brother could return to AEW in six to eight weeks.

“Jeff just had some eye surgery. His eyes were just a little off-set, it’s just probably from wear and tear and beating his body up. They had to work on some ligaments and tendons in one of his eyes.

“So they corrected that [with] surgery and they said probably in five, six weeks, he should be okay. So I’m hoping after that, now that he’s kind of putting this whole situation behind him, that we’ll see him back around soon. I’m hoping so, man. You guys keep your fingers crossed. Maybe six, eight weeks from now, hopefully we can see some Jeff Hardy on AEW.”

Stay tuned for more updates on Jeff Hardy’s status as they become available.
