WWE is a company that is in constant need of new stars, and there are several names on the Friday Night SmackDown brand who are currently working to make it to the next level.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that both Big E and Lars Sullivan are currently set for big pushes. Big E is reportedly being groomed for a future championship match, and Sullivan is going to be pushed as the SmackDown version of Braun Strowman.

It was also noted that Big E was possibly pulled from the dual brand battle royal at Survivor Series so that WWE could save him for The New Day’s big entrance where they came out wearing suits from Gears of War.

WWE officials reportedly wanted to protect Sullivan and Big E rather than put them in the battle royal on the kickoff show. At one point Big E was rumored to be competing in the men’s traditional Survivor Series match as a member of Team SmackDown, but his spot went to Otis.
