Oba Femi has taken the wrestling world by storm and he made his big WrestleMania debut back in April when he defeated Brock Lesnar on the Grandest Stage of Them All. Their rivalry has escalated in recent months as Brock picked up a win over Oba at Clash in Italy and they are set to face off against each other for a third time at SummerSlam this weekend.
While talking about Oba Femi’s relationship with Brock Lesnar on Busted Open Radio, Triple H revealed that The Beast Incarnate has been very hands on when it comes to mentoring Oba behind the scenes.
“He’d probably suplex me for saying this, but Brock is hands-on with Oba Femi. He’s seen something special there, and he’s like, ‘Okay, kid. Come with me and I’m going to teach you — here’s all the things you gotta learn.’ He brings him into his room in the afternoon, they sit for hours and talk about this stuff.
“It’s that level of stuff that brings this next generation up and I think will take it to the next level. I’m excited to see it. For every star that we have now sitting at the top, there’s a guy underneath them. An Oba, a Trick, a Carmelo, Je’Von. All these people that are sitting underneath them and soaking up this knowledge, and I think that’s going to make this next generation thrive.”
There’s a lot of speculation regarding who will pick up the win when Oba and Brock face off inside Hell in a Cell this weekend. It has long been rumored that Brock will be retiring at SummerSlam, so it will be interesting to see how things play out in Minneapolis.
