Impact Wrestling might have their fair share of problems but the fact is that there is and always has been some amazing talent on their roster. True, WWE snatched up a good deal of that talent with Bobby Roode, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and so on but it looks like one more big star is coming out of Impact Wrestling and he’s ready to make his mark in the WWE Universe.

Ethan Carter III might have debuted as the spoiled nephew of Dixie Carter in TNA but that character really took on a life of its own in due time. Eventually, EC 3 gained a strong fan following and began to improve in many ways as he continued to establish himself as a star in pro wrestling.

Once known as Derrick Bateman in NXT, he set off to find much more success. Now he is back in NXT, he kept his name from Impact Wrestling, and now he’s looking for gold right off the bat.

EC 3 debuted at the NXT television tapings this week at Full Sail University and he was thrust into a big storyline from the get-go. It all went down as William Regal was announcing the new North American Championship and EC 3 wanted in on the action.

But the NXT General Manager didn’t just give EC 3 what he wanted. Instead, Regal said he was happy that EC 3 was in NXT but he wasn’t just going to give the new title to him. Instead, Regal booked a six-man ladder match for NXT TakeOver: New Orleans and the winner will be crowned the first-ever NXT North American Champion.

It’s about time NXT introduced a secondary title because for far too long there was nothing for guys to fight for who weren’t in the main event scene. Now, this will not only give fans an opportunity for more matches but it will also give EC 3 a goal to shoot for upon making his debut.

Needless to say, it might be a very good idea to pay attention to NXT’s television show for the next month because things are getting good as they approach WrestleMania weekend.
