Anything can happen in the world of professional wrestling, and it looks like a big name is set to make an appearance at an upcoming NJPW event.

Despite the fact that Chris Jericho has said publicly that he’s done with New Japan Pro Wrestling, PWInsider is reporting that Jericho is set to appear at the Wrestling Dontaku event in Fukuoka, Japan this week.

According to the report, Jericho will be shooting an angle that will set up a match for him at NJPW Dominion next month.

Earlier this year Chris Jericho faced Kenny Omega in a dream match at Wrestle Kingdom which Jericho lost.

A few weeks ago Jericho spoke to Still Real To Us in an exclusive interview, and he talked about his chemistry with Omega.

“It was kind of a combination of all things happening at the right time at the right place, the right time and it was a lot of fun man […] you talk things over and Kenny speaks English obviously he’s from Winnipeg like I am so we really didn’t have any communication issue but for a match that big you kinda want to go in there with a game plan.”

“Things happen, there were some spots where we were like, ‘just do whatever you feel out there to make it happen.’ Which is part of it and sometimes that’s the best way to go and other times it’s best to kinda get your ducks in a row before you go out there so you know it worked out really good and we were excited about it and it was a classic.”

After losing to Omega, Jericho attacked Tetsuya Naito at New Year’s Dash. It’s been speculated that he will likely pick up his feud with Naito when he returns to NJPW.
