WWE departures have been a hot topic throughout the year and back in January, Simone Johnson (formerly known as Ava) announced that she had decided not to renew her contract with the company.
Simone’s departure sent shockwaves throughout the wrestling world at the time because she was the NXT General Manager when the announcement was made. There was a lot of speculation regarding her departure, and now it seems that Johnson has found a new role that she’s happy with.
During a recent episode of What Do You Wanna Talk About? with Cody Rhodes, Simone Johnson confirmed that she is now working with her parents at Seven Bucks productions.
“So I work under Seven Bucks Productions now, and I think my official title is junior executive, I believe, which is a fancy way to say that I get to read scripts and take notes and sit in on so many meetings with incredible writers and producers and directors,”
“And I feel so lucky. There’s so much that I thought I knew about the entertainment industry, and then getting to learn so much more has been so eye-opening. And they’re not lying when they say making a movie is the hardest thing in the world. My gosh. Truly.”
