It almost goes without saying that there are a lot of creative people on the WWE main roster, but at the end of the day it’s Vince McMahon who gets the final say when it comes to creative decisions.
Back in 2019 Tony Nese defended the Cruiserweight Championship against Ariya Daivari at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, and Daivari wanted to drive to the ring in a fancy car.
During an appearance on the Straight Shooting podcast Tony Nese talked about the entrance and he revealed that he was told not to bring the idea up to Vince McMahon.
“The answer was like, ‘Oh, no, no, no, don’t even bother asking Vince that.’ That was the type of response. ‘I’m not even gonna go to Vince with that idea.’ And Daivari, good for him, he was like, ‘You know what, screw you, I’m gonna ask him myself.’”
“So he just knocked on the door, went in Vince’s office, and he was like, ‘Hey, this is my character, this is what he does, we’re gonna be on the show.’ Vince was like, ‘Where is it?’ I think it was Hartford or wherever. He’s like, ‘I think we can fit a car in that building. You know what, as long as we can fit a car, you’ve got it.’”
In the end the idea was approved and Ariya Daivari drove a Mercedes into the arena as he was making his entrance.
