In September of 2023 WWE released a number of wrestlers following the TKO merger and Elias happened to be one of the names that got cut. Following his release Elias revealed via social media that he would be moving forward using the name Elijah.
On Saturday night Elijah returned to the ring for the first time since his WWE release when he faced off against Mike Bailey at the Wrestling Revolver Whatashow event in Grand Prairie, TX. It seems that Elijah put on an impressive performance, but it wasn’t enough to score a victory as it was Mike Bailey who picked up the win on Saturday night.
Elijah (Elias) is still in incredible shape
Hope to see more of him on the indies and maybe in TNA pic.twitter.com/umebiqTL1b

Elijah wasn’t the only former WWE star who competed at the event as Mansoor was also defeated by Bryan Keith, Lio Rush was defeated by Chris Bey, and Marina Shafir faced off against Masha Slamovich in a match that ended in a no contest.
