Over the last few years Matt Riddle managed to become one of the most talked about wrestlers on the WWE roster during his time with the company. Riddle’s run with WWE ended back in September of 2023 and he’s recently been opening up about it since becoming a free agent.
The former WWE Raw Tag Team Champion discussed his relationship with Vince McMahon on the Saturday Night’s Main Event podcast. According to Riddle most of his interactions with Vince were “awesome.” However, he admitted that Vince McMahon did not like him at first due to his goofy personality.
“He thought I was goofy. If anything, the first time we met, he didn’t like me because I was goofy. He was like ‘You’re goofy.’ And I’m like ‘Yeah I’m goofy, but it’s a good thing.’
He’s like ‘Being a goof isn’t a good thing.’ And I’m like ‘Well, I’m a goof that can kick your a**.’ You could tell that didn’t make him happy. And then Bruce Prichard hopped in and was like ‘Hey Vince, he’s pretty good at wrestling. Trust me.'”
