Ever since former UFC Champion Ronda Rousey put her hands on both Stephanie McMahon and Triple H at WrestleMania 31, it has been rumored that one day she would finally step into a WWE ring in a sanctioned match.
Recently there have been a lot of reports that have linked Ronda to a debut at the Royal Rumble as part of the historic first ever all women’s battle royal at the event. Over the past few weeks, there have also been reports that WWE COO Triple H met up with the former UFC star which has only served to heat up the speculation about an upcoming debut at the Royal Rumble.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer recently weighed in on his opinion on the story and it seems that he thinks that WWE has once again used the internet to their advantage. Meltzer seems to think that WWE leaked the news of the meeting to TMZ because they wanted to build hype when it comes to Ronda’s potential Rumble debut.
He believes that if WWE wanted to keep it private then they wouldn’t have let Triple H and Ronda meet at such a public restaurant. The company haven’t kept any of the process of her transition private so far since she recently made an appearance at the Mae Young Classic where she teased a match against The Four Horsewomen of WWE which already basically announced that she was thinking of making the switch.
