Recently R-Truth announced his WWE departure and it was later revealed that the company decided not to renew his contract. Truth has been one of the most popular stars on the WWE roster for years now which is why many fans were shocked when it was announced that the company decided to let him go.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that essentially a financial decision was made by WWE in the sense that R-Truth’s last contract was so high that they felt it made no sense for the level they were using him at.
According to the report there were a lot of wrestlers who were unhappy about the departure because R-Truth was so popular with the talent. It was also noted that talent were told not to wear R-Truth shirts on Raw. Rhea Ripley was wearing one but took it off before appearing on TV.
The belief is that R-Truth will be in better shape than most of the people who got cut as he’ll be in demand for autograph appearances, and will easily be able to fill his schedule with independent dates. Those in Total Nonstop Action have also reportedly said that they want to make R-Truth an offer.
