It’s been a while since fans have seen Cody Rhodes on WWE programming as he last competed in the Hell in a Cell premium live event back on June 5. Cody was able to defeat Seth Rollins with a torn pectoral muscle, and he was then written off TV so he could undergo surgery.

Originally WWE indicated that Cody Rhodes could be out of action for up to 9 months, but it’s worth noting that he’s currently being advertised for the upcoming Raw taping in Toronto on 8/22. The arena is advertising Seth Rollins vs. Cody Rhodes for the event, which seems unlikely due to Cody’s injury, so it’s possible that the advertising material used for the tweet is out of date.

Back in June, Cody disputed the potential 9 month recovery time when he posted the following in an Instagram story: “I’ve heard 9 months, that’s their plan…I’ve never concerned myself with other people’s projections – I’ve got a plan of my own – let’s finish, all of us.”

Neither Cody Rhodes nor Seth Rollins have commented on the advertisement, but Rhodes did recently get fans talking when he posted a simple tweet asking “What’s next?”

Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
